ho installato due HD sata (250 Gb ognuno) al controller della scheda madre con installat aMandriva 2010 su sdb
mentre sda è usato solo perl'avio del pc
Vi chederete come mai questa stranezza
ora vi spego
all'inizio Mandriva era installata su sda e funzionava tutto alla perfezione sino a quando questo hd ha cominciato a ticchettare come se le testine parchegiassero in continuazione bloccando il pc sino a quando terminava, questo succedeva anche diverse volte in all'ora , a volte il pc rimaneva bloccato e mi toccava spegnere il tutto.
ora ogni tanto senza una ragione precisa ( come prima ) continua a farlo ma avendo installato Mandriva su sdb il pc non fa una piega e continua a funzionare ,tranne la visualizzazione di qualsiasi cosa sia su sda con qualsiasi metodo .Il tutto ritorna a funzionare al riavvio del PC
il controller sata della scheda madre è nVidia ‎MCP61 SATA Controller
i dischi sda ATA Maxtor 7Y250M0    sdb ‎ATA MAXTOR STM325031
ora sto controllado i parametri degli Hd e noto una cosa strana almeno per me

Se un disco "ticchetta" più del dovuto, di solito è perché non riceve abbastanza corrente dall'alimentatore. Può anche capitare che il problema non si verifichi tutte le volte, come nel tuo caso, se la potenza erogata è insufficiente ma di poco.
Prova ad eliminare qualche periferica che non indispensabile, ad esempio dischi fissi, dischi ottici, periferiche USB o firewire e riprova.

Temo di doverti dare brutte notizie, questo è un sintomo tipico, ti sta morendo il disco.

Comunque la cosa da fare ora sono i test di smartctl, trovi un po' di info qui:

il test con smartctl -a da un log "kilometrico" del quale non capisco nulla posso postarlo?
