Ringrazio per il contributo, ma il file di firmware indicato e' gia presente da mò alla destinazione indicata, fa la sua parte muta assieme a molti altri suoi simili, stipati in /lib/firmware in attesa del fatidico vialibera!Ti ringrazio comunque, e ,visto che a te una pennetta dvb_t funziona , che ne diresti di postare qui un po'di roba tua, tipo , ad esempio:1)che programmi usi per vedere la tv digitale terrestre; 2)marca e tipo(preciso) del dispositivo USB; 3) il contenuto della fatidica /lib/firmware ; il responso da root di "lsusb"; il responso da root di "dmesg";la stringa id hardware e altre info dal centro di controllo Mandriva relativamente al dispositivo dvb-t; info sul kernel in uso; soprattutto come hai fatto per gestire la pennetta (automatico di Mandriva o hai fatto tu?); le cartelle che vedi in /usr/src...e tutto quello che ci può essere utile. Ti ringrazio anticipatamente. Ora stacco, perchè sono appena uscito da un altro nulla di fatto, seguendo quanto dichiarato in questo ennesimo thread : " http://forum.ubuntu-it.org/index.php?topic=228071.0 "( non si e' materializzato nessun file .fw).Credo di avere la soluzione davanti al naso e non riesco a vederla...Buona notte.

Prova con questi firmware e copia anche quest'altro, sono indispensabili per la chiavetta, gentilmente ti chiedo se una volta copiato questi file ci posti l'output di dmesg

Finalmente SUCCEDE QUALCOSA Applause . Ecco un resoconto: ho copiato i tre file dei links indicati in /lib/firmware; poi ho agganciato la Pinnacle , ho aspettato qualche minuto e ho avviato Kaffeine; ho resettato il dispositivo , scelto la "scansione automatica", e in tutta la scansione mi ha tirato fuori una manciata di canali sconosciuti (7NEWS-TVISION, A3NEWS-TVISION,A3-TVISION...)in tutto 7.Bene, dico, ne guardo uno, si vede (non benissimo) e si sente. Poi passo ad un altro e Kaffeine scompare...Avvio vlc, scelgo dispositivo dvb dalle opzioni, parte la scansione ma non trova alcun canale At Wits End . Riavvio il sistema e ritorno su Kaffeine, scelgo "Scansione automatica Italia", mi trova in tutto altri 13 canali tutti che iniziano con TV7...ne guardo uno, si vede meglio che prima, poi passo ad un'altro non si vede + nulla, neancche tornando al precedente, e finalmente emerge un laconico "Spiacente Errore leggendo da". Pare che siamo vicini e che sia proprio una questione di firmware o di configurazione dello stesso sul dispositivo giusto.Non ho provato la pennetta Terratec, ora mi preme postarvi il responso di dmesg ( intanto grazie ), eccovelo:

In pratica registra video1 (analogico) e vbi0 (audio) non c'è traccia del digitale e kaffeine non trova nessun digitale.

Ho controllato entrambi gli outpot del dmesg e infatti era quello che immaginavo, il firmware esatto della vostra pinnacle è questo xc3028-v27.fw che vi linkato, rimuovete i firmware inutili delle altre chiavette e riprovate, dovrebbe funzionarvi.

Vorrei sapere se usate l'antenna con il suo piccolo antennino o con l'antenna collegata alla presa, perchè il vero test lo dovete effettuare con l'antennino.

Fatemi sapere.

Niente da fare.Dei tre file ho lasciato in /lib/firmware solo quello indicato e rimosso gli altri due. Kaffeine continua a trovare solo i sette unici canali insulsi che ho gia' detto. Tra l'altro non trovo traccia della pennetta nell'elenco hardware (Configura il computer) neanche come dispositivo sconosciuto, secondo me invece dovrebbe starci. E poi non capisco cosa c'entra il fatto della antennina (che non trovo piu') rispetto al cavo antenna di casa, che nel mio caso arriva da una nuovissimo sistema per digitale terrestre condominiale appena impiantato (qualche mese fa).Proverò comunque questo firmware da solo in una Mandriva fresca di installazione, vediamo che succede. Ora vi saluto, devo tornare a W.....s 7 perchè c'e'un programma TV che mi interessa e non possiedo nessun televisore...Grazie e buona notte. Alla prossima.

e poi inserisci la penna usb, che cosa ti viene fuori?

A questo punto il mistero si infittisce ancora di più. Perché è chiaro che dal tail si può vedere che la tua pennetta DVB è perfettamente riconosciuta dal sistema, non saprei cos'altro suggerirti, anche perché credo che tu abbia fatto un bel po' di tentativi.
Vediamo se qualcun altro ha idee migliori.

Appena ho il tempo ho intenzione di provare su una nuova installazione, subito dopo aver fatto i primi aggiornamenti automatici. Secondo voi: 1)e'opportuno includere le fonti MIB e i plf o mi limito agli ufficiali per l'esperimento ? 2)come e meglio fare, copio un file di firmware alla volta e vedo se funziona oppure? Tento prima di far andare la pennetta Terratec Cinergy T-stick ? Fra un po' esce la Powerpack, chissà se...posso avere qualche gradita sorpresa. Ciao.
