intel gma3150 + opengl + compositing NON attivabile

Salve a tutti,
come da oggetto sul mio netbook ho una scheda video intel modello gma3150.
Utilizzo Mandriva 2010.2 64bit con kernel 2.6.33.7-desktop-2mnb.

Non riesco ad attivare il compositing dalla finestra EFFETTI DEL DESKTOP unitamente all'opzione OpenGL, il compositing si attiva soltanto con XRender.
Questo fa sì che gli effetti siano comunque utilizzabili ma (credo) che se riuscissi ad attivarli tramite OpenGL sarebbero un po' più fluidi.

Ho letto un po' in rete e la scheda video in questione dovrebbe essere compatibile con opengl.

Vi fornisco un po' di dati così che chi è più esperto di me in questo ambito possa darmi un paio di dritte,

ciao, ci puoi postare l'ouput del comando:

glxgears

compiz hai provato a vedere se funziona? i driver che hai installato dovrebbero già in automatico di avere il 3d, ci dev'essere qualche problema esterno al driver della scheda video... che modello hai specificato nel centro di controllo a proposito? hai selezionato il modello di scheda video corretto?

Inoltre sotto "configure 3d desktop effects" di default la selezione è su:
no 3d desktop effects
poichè sia la voce relativa a compiz fusion che a metisse non sono selezionabili.

a quanto pare ci sono problemi con l'accelerazione hardware, 100 fps sono veramente bassi (io ho una gma 950 - inferiore rispetto alla tua - e va sui 700)... puoi postare anche l'output di:

$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf

e:

$ glxinfo

la versione del driver è aggiornata, forse potrebbe anche essere un bug...

La scelta predefinita è: 810 and later

Se seleziono Poulsbo US15W (GMA5000), non riparte più il server X.

Su wikipedia ho letto che la GMA3150 supporta OpenGL 1.5 su Windows e 2.0 su Linux, magari è questo il problema?

in riferimento alla problematica da me segnalata ho risolto compilando il kernel 2.6.37.2.
Adesso il compositing gira abbastanza bene, vi posto il risultatao di glxgears:

# glxgears
1193 frames in 5.0 seconds = 238.322 FPS
1508 frames in 5.0 seconds = 301.518 FPS
1217 frames in 5.0 seconds = 241.540 FPS
1595 frames in 5.0 seconds = 318.895 FPS

Adesso la sfida si è spostata su come usare la scheda nvidia che è installata nel portatile e utilizza la tecnologia optimus di nvidia.
