Ciao a tutti, mi sto affacciando da poco al mondo LInux e dopo aver provato per qualche settimana Mandriva 2007.0 ho installato la 2007 Spring dal DVD.

Tutto sembra funzionare al meglio a parte la scheda audio che non emette nessun suono.

Il mio portatile ha la seguente configurazione
CPU: AMD Athlon64 mobile 3400+
Chipset: VIA K8M800 (northbridge K8M800 + southbridge VT8237 PCI bridge [K8T800 South])
RAM: 512 Mb PC2700 (256+256)
VideoCard: nVIDIA GeForce Go5700 FX , 64 Mb
VideoPanel: Acer WMLi 1280x800

...sarà banale quello che sto per dire, però ogni tanto c'è qualcuno che commette alcune piccole distrazioni;

1) Hai alzato il volume dal Mixer (Kmix..ad esempio)

2) Hai collegato al jack giusto ( naturalmente se usi casse esterne) del portatile?

..probabilmente la configurazione l'hai scritta tu manualmente.
C'è un metodo più veloce per evitare ciò; apri una shell, loggati come root (comando su, Invio, password e di nuovo Invio) e digita il comando;

lscpi

oppure per maggiori info;

lspci -v

e posta il contenuto.

COmunque, ad occhio e croce, avendo una scheda integrata in chipset VIA dovrebbe funzionare senza problemi.

c'è il simbolo dellìaltoparlante nella tray bar -in basso a destra -
se si!tasto dx >>mostra la finestra del mixer e comincia a muovere i cursori

Per quanto riguarda il resto, le cuffie sono attaccate al connettore giusto, il volume è al max, insomma non so cosa c'è che non va

...sempre in una shell e da root prova a postare il risultato del comando;

lsmod | grep snd

così verifichiamo se i moduli del kernel sono stati caricati.

Devo aver combinato qualcosa nel tentativo di installare i driver alsa perchè adesso all'avvio mi compare una finestra con scritto

...per riportare il tutto alle "condizioni iniziali" installa, se non è già installato, il pacchetto alsaconf e, da root in una shell, lancia il comando;

alsaconf

...segui la procedura pseudo-grafica.

Potresti provare anche il suggerimento di Kio341 però in luogo di OSS come motore inidichi ALSA....

Da quello che hai postato i moduli sono stati tutti regolarmente caricati...

...facci sapere....
